How to delete your account from Instagram

Before you proceed, ensure you have access to your Instagram account and a web browser, as account deletion cannot be done through the mobile app.

Steps to delete your account

1. Login to your account:

   • Open a web browser and go to Instagram.com.
   • Enter your username and password to log in.

2. Navigate to the Delete Your Account page:

   • Go to the Delete Your Account page. You may be prompted to log in again.

3. Select a reason for deletion:

   • From the dropdown menu, select the reason why you are deleting your account.

4. Re-enter your password:

   • You will be asked to re-enter your password to confirm your identity.

5. Permanently delete your account:

   • Click on the "Permanently delete my account" button.

Notes

• Once your account is deleted, your profile, photos, videos, comments, likes, and followers will be permanently removed.
• If you just want to take a break, you can temporarily disable your account instead. This option is available in the "Edit Profile" section.
• If you do not have access to your account, you may need to recover your account first by using the "Forgot password?" option on the login page or contacting Instagram support.
