How to delete your account from Telegram

General Prerequisites

• Ensure you have access to your Telegram account.
• Make sure you have your phone number associated with your Telegram account handy.

Helpful or Basic Information to Conduct the Steps Required

• Deleting your Telegram account is permanent and cannot be undone. All your messages, contacts, and groups will be deleted.
• You can delete your account using a web browser; this cannot be done directly from the mobile app.

Steps to delete your account

1. Open your web browser and go to the Telegram Deactivation Page: Telegram Deactivation Page.
2. Enter the phone number associated with your Telegram account in the international format (e.g., +1234567890).
3. Click on the "Next" button.
4. You will receive a confirmation code via Telegram (not SMS). Open your Telegram app to retrieve this code.
5. Enter the confirmation code in the provided field on the web page and click "Sign In".
6. Once signed in, you will see several options. Click on "Delete Account".
7. You will be asked to provide a reason for leaving (this is optional).
8. Click on the "Delete My Account" button.
9. A confirmation prompt will appear. Click "Yes, delete my account" to finalize the process.

Notes

• If you do not have access to your Telegram account or the phone number associated with it, you will not be able to delete your account through the standard process.
